AP Summer Assignments

Goals 
  • To introduce students to important topics, themes, and skills that will be of focus in the course
  • To engage students in reading, writing, and/or thinking critically about course content
  • To build students’ experiences and confidence when interacting with course-specific material 
Common Expectations 
  • Campuses distribute AP Summer Assignments to students enrolled in the following AP courses for SY 25-26
  • AP teachers may use their own assignments for summer work, or they may use the assignments linked below.  
  • Due dates/assignment collection dates should be 5 days after the first day of school, at the earliest (week of August 18, 2025) 

 

Students in AP Courses are expected to:

  • Be independent learners who are willing to read, learn, and ask questions as well as pursue outside reading and research
  • Discuss and share material relevant to the course in a collegial manner
  • Spend adequate time every week studying or in tutorials to avoid falling behind
  • Understand that enrollment in an AP course does not guarantee an A or B grade
  • Openly accept assignments, suggestions, and coaching from the teacher
  • Maintain levels of academic integrity as expected in college-level courses 
  • Thoughtfully select their course load
  • Prepare to take the AP exam in May for the course(s) in which they are enrolled
  • Comply with any amendments to these expectations that their AP teacher chooses to implement
  • Complete Summer work prior to the beginning of the second week of the quarter to maintain enrollment in the course 
  • Sign the AP contract with their parents and agree to the outlined AP course guidelines
